Choose The Right Path

For all the hatchlings starting your career, here is my word as a HR on how to shape your career. Don’t fall into the stereotypical world trying to fulfil the expectations of others. Sky is your limit and you choose the direction and you choose the maximum height of your flight.
As the African wisdom saying goes, “the strength of the crocodile is in the water – people can be very strong in their right environment”.
Look into the mirror and know your don’ts more than your do’s. Get back to basic and do “SWOT Analysis”. Choose a career that suits your skill, which feeds your thirst, which challenges you daily and helps you reach your maximum flight. Remember, not all eggs hatch in the right place and moment, but as the bird strives it finds the best environment for its life.
As Steve Jobs says “If you are working on something that you really care about, you don’t have to be pushed. The vision pulls you”. When you find your right path learn to take action towards success.
Browse the internet gather as much as information about your choice of field, talk to the experts and set your direction.

MS Dhoni says, “Process is more important than results”. See your destination, choose your path, and set your short term goal and progress towards it. Remember that you may not be flying with the wind all the times in your career. You will have ebbs and flows but keep flying towards your destination, who would believe in you if not for you.

Socialize with people in your environment. Use platforms like LinkedIn, Indeed, Naukri and Career Builder to build your online networks. Learn, unlearn and relearn. Create a network to know, whenever an opportunity is open and learn to grab every opportunity that comes your way. Also, grab every opportunity that wasn’t supposed to come your way.

“The Pessimist Sees Difficulty In Every Opportunity. The Optimist Sees Opportunity In Every Difficulty.” – Winston Churchill.
